Intentionally small, Tamsin and her team work on just three to five projects at a time – allowing Tamsin to have the time and space to focus on every aspect of creating a home – ensuring it feels warm and inviting, closely tied and connected to nature, honest and emotionally enriching.

Whether it’s a complete refurbishment, reconfiguration of the internal layout, an overhaul of dated, neglected, or inherited decoration, or an extension downwards, outwards, or upwards, the homes Tamsin designs feel uniquely personal, gently layered and as if they have been there forever.

Tamsin works on a project from inception to completion: From the initial walk-through to designing the layout, creation of architectural plans and tender documents, planning, sourcing and instructing builders, designing and overseeing the production and installation of bespoke joinery including kitchens, wardrobes, panelling, cloakrooms and bathrooms.

Starting from the initial brief Tamsin works on all aspects of the design process: Space planning, through to design development, the production of highly detailed drawings and spreadsheets, purchasing and final installation. Working with a dedicated team of skilled, independent craftspeople who practice traditional techniques Tamsin has established a trusted reputation for the sensitive restoration, extension and refurbishment of period and listed properties.

Tamsin’s training as a painter, love of nature and her interest in craftsmanship and the arts are evident in the homes she creates. She uses colour, pattern and texture lightly but to great effect: Vintage furniture is upholstered and combined with original antiques, beautiful textiles and exceptional art to add depth and interest, transforming not just how each room feels but the house as a whole.

Tamsin’s approach is founded on the core belief that the building, garden, and the surrounding landscape should be regarded as one: the best homes (those that help us feel our best) are those that feel firmly rooted in the natural world. She designs, refines, and develops a garden’s layout, planning and planting to establish a gentle constant dialogue between house and home-framing views, planning vistas, planting trees, and considering light, colour, shape, and form to create a harmonious whole.

We have recently started offering consultations – a service where you can bring your decorating concerns to us, and we will help you resolve them. Offering not just a fresh pair of eyes and ears but also hands-on experience and a proven track record of working these things through, such consultations take place either in person or via zoom and are chargeable by the hour.
